The original cable-laying vessel, the Polar Queen, was converted to a pipe-layer in 2007. This extensive project was executed at the Damen Ship Repair shipyard in Schiedam. TPS carried out electrical work for various clients. This included extension of the living quarters to accommodate 44 persons. TPS also built the panels and laid the cabling for the new (Huisman-Itrec) pipe-laying system. TPS'a ability to provide flexible capacity to carry out this work proved to be a hugely successful factor.
