Maintenance of the main engines of the Geopotes 15

Project: Maintenance of the main engines of the Geopotes 15

The Geopotes 15 is a trailing suction hopper dredger that sucks and moves sand from the seabed. Recently this ship became actively engaged in the strengthening of the dykes in the Netherlands by contributing to the ‘sand motor’ – a form of coastal defence, which harnesses natural forces to deposit sand for coastal replenishment – along the Dutch coast. TPS provided two service engineers for the maintenance support of the two TM 410 main engines. They took apart and reassembled these engines over a four-week period. This project was carried out to Wärtsilä Netherlands BV’s complete satisfaction.
