Large diesel and gas engines seem to be a thing of the past. Yet a large part of the Netherlands still relies on these powerhouses. Due to the long lifespan and many operating hours of these engines, timely and high-quality maintenance is important. This requires large numbers of well-trained service mechanics. Our technical staff from the new EU countries specializes in mechanical maintenance. Whether it concerns an adjustment of an installation, maintenance, disassembly and assembly or a major new construction job; TPS provides expert service mechanics for every project.

What can a TPS service mechanic do?

A TPS service technician can be deployed for all mechanical maintenance and overhaul of 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines in the industrial, maritime and agricultural sectors. Most of them have been working as international technicians on projects in the Netherlands, among others, for years, making it easy for them to adapt to new customers, activities and project locations.

Our men are able to maintain engines of all major brands. They are familiar with Cummins, Wärtsilä, Roll's Royce, MTU, MAK, MWM, Deutz, Sulzer and MAN B&W, among others. In addition, we see that the training courses for mechanical personnel in Eastern European countries still resemble 'The old MTS'. Activities for which our technicians can be deployed:

• Disassembly and assembly of engine parts;
• Alignment;
• Overhaul cylinder heads;
• Adjust fuel pumps;
• Disassembly and assembly of pistons and liners;
• Disassembly and assembly of coolers;
• Disassembly and installation of water pumps and oil pumps;
• Dismantling connecting rods and measuring;
• Installation of connecting rods including replaced bearings;
• Disassembly and assembly of crankshaft (including bearing change).
